Make an exciting piece out of clay or try your hand at throwing a bowl on the potters wheel with Wicklow based artist Christien Van Bussel.

At the workshop you can make your own bowl on the wheel or craft a piece with air drying clay. A variety of tools will be available to decorate your piece with interesting patterns and textures. Before you take it home you'll get some tips on how to paint and varnish it so that your finished work of art will be ready to take pride of place on the mantlepiece. Join in and discover your own creativity!

In the weekend of 26th and 27th of May Christien will have a stall at the Wiclow Arts Festival. Children can make a bowl on the potters wheel. They can also decorate plaster and pottery figures.

She will also have her own table-ware and woodturning designs on display and for sale.

Calling all creative kids who like to get their hands dirty! This pottery workshop is for you. Enjoy working with the clay to make your very own chicken money box and an ‘eggstra’ special egg cup! Learn all about clay and how its coloured and fired in a kiln to make your pieces strong and durable.
